David Wilkinson Building Contractors Ltd. was formed in 1980 by Brian & June Morton and David Wilkinson. The business has grown from humble beginnings, remarkably, trading began in the Morton family home with their office set up in the dining room. The team began by carrying out small bid works in the local area. In 1984 the company moved to its 1st office in Blyth, and shortly after won their 1st major contract, a 3 year maintenance contract for Northumbria Police Authority.
During the following ten years, the team realised that there was a great demand from clients to provide maintenance services to the work in which the company was contracted. Operations were diversified in order to meet this long overdue service.
Continual expansion of the maintenance service and the need to serve a wider area resulted in the opening of new offices in Ripon and Carlisle, to serve customers located in the Yorkshire, Cleveland and the West Coast of England, thus providing total coverage of the North of England.

Wilkinson Facilities Services prides itself on having long term clients such as Barclays Bank, Lloyds TSB and Marks & Spencer to name but a few.
Wilkinson Facilities Services joined the Esh Group in 2007, the acquisition is part of a five year plan by the Esh Group to grow the company from £100m to £250m as well as to add 500 new jobs to its 1,000-strong workforce.
